Program Management Business Executive - Product Management Oversight & Support
AIG Programs


The AIG Personal Lines Programs Unit is responsible for providing oversight and support for a $1.5b GWP / 200,000 policy personal lines portfolio distributed by Private Client Services (PCS). PCS was formed in July 2023 by AIG and investment partner Stone Point Capital to transition the PCG business unit to an independent Managing General Agency (MGA). Seven PCG employees remained at AIG and transferred to the AIG Programs Unit to manage the newly formed PCS MGA. Products are written on both a non-admitted / Excess and Surplus (E&S) and admitted basis.

Position Summary:

The Programs Product Management Executive is responsible for managing the AIG personal lines product management strategies by providing the AIG oversight and support necessary to manage the PCS product management and actuarial teams. There are nine products sold countrywide including homeowners, private collections, excess liability, auto, yacht, earthquake, excess flood, workers comp, and non-admitted. They are accountable for the financial results and develops the product business strategies to meet company growth, profit, and CAT capacity objectives. The Executive will manage a team of two program managers.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop the annual product management objectives and communicate them to PCS product team to manage and implement. Provide the proper oversight to ensure objectives are met.
  • Develop profit targets for each individual product and achieve them through rate change, underwriting, growth and PML strategies.
  • Develops the ongoing execution of the AIG PCS strategy to deliver consistent growth, profitability, operating targets, and maximization of shareholder value.
  • Assist PCS develop the annual rate and forms filing schedule (90-110 annual filings) and sign-off on all rate filings. Monitor the execution to achieve rate target objectives.
  • Support the AIG reinsurance team by providing portfolio and financial information used to negotiate with reinsurers. Represent AIG Personal Lines Programs in meeting with reinsurers.
  • Relationship product leader to PCS providing them the support necessary to help them achieve their objectives. Effectively communicate AIG strategies and obtain ongoing feedback from PCS and utilize their feedback to make product decisions.
  • Product level portfolio management to determine adverse trends. Develop a monthly report to validate results are trending as expected.
  • Leads a culture of underwriting excellence. Instill a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations, measuring results, rewarding the right behavior, and addressing consequences. Develop and maintain a performance management culture by setting standards and measures for the selection, hiring assessment and development of talent.
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate work performance of direct reports. Mentor the program managers responsible for portfolio management of assigned products.
  • Ensure collaboration across the organization to maximize, deliver, and consistently harness the PCS value proposition to the marketplace.
  • Assist with audits, quality reviews, and peer reviews, including implementation of action steps to improve regulatory and AIG governance requirements.
  • Drive a culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, diversity, and inclusion; successfully conduct talent acquisition, employee engagement and performance monitoring/evaluation work; lead through example.

Technical Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years staff management.
  • Minimum 10 years of product management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Understand regulatory and compliance processes.
  • Must be able to Forecast and budget accurately.
  • Broad insurance industry experience.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition, and distribution.
  • Process and system skills.
  • Technical underwriting experience with a broad view.
  • Experience with Actuarial data and underwriting modeling techniques.
  • Extensive understanding of CAT Modeling process and output.
