SENIOR RISK ANALYST

JOB PURPOSE

Support implementing the Enterprise Risk Management Framework within the company. Collaborate with the Risk Manager to execute risk identification, assessment, response, monitoring, reporting, and awareness activities. Work closely with leaders to manage risks and provide a consolidated enterprise-wide view.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with the Risk Manager, and business leaders to proactively identify, analyze, and assess potential upsides and downsides to risks across the business.
  • Utilize various risk assessment methodologies including stress testing, scenario analyses, hedging and data modeling to measure and evaluate the likelihood and potential impact of identified risks.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive risk registers, documenting key risk information such as risk descriptions, severity ratings, likelihood assessments, and potential outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Manager and relevant business unit leaders to develop and implement effective risk response strategies.
  • Track and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and early warning trigger points to identify potential risk changes and escalation needs.
  • Assist with conducting periodic risk reviews and updates.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining robust ERM framework.
  • Prepare and present clear and concise risk reports for senior management, board committees, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with various departments to integrate risk management processes into their operational activities.
  • Act as a central point of contact for risk management inquiries.
  • Conduct ongoing research on industry best practices, emerging risks, and regulatory requirements related to risk management.
  • Analyze complex risk data from various sources.
  • Present research findings in a clear and concise manner, using data visualization techniques where appropriate, to inform risk management decisions and strategies.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture by sharing best practices, success stories, and lessons learned across the organization.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the ERM framework.
  • Support the preparation, update, testing and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan and ensure its ongoing relevance to withstand potential disruptions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
  • BSc. in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science) or business disciplines (Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management) preferred.
  • Master's Degree or relevant professional designation (e.g., Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) or Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) a strong plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in risk management, financial analysis, or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar role within the same industry (Banking, Insurance, Investments, Remittances, etc.) a strong plus.
  • In-depth understanding of risk management principles, frameworks (ERM, COSO, ISO), and methodologies (FMEA, scenario planning).
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex data from various sources.
  • Strong quantitative skills with proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues at all levels, fostering a collaborative risk management culture.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines even under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for ensuring high-quality work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and report generation.
  • Ability to leverage risk management software tools.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing risk response plans.
  • Understanding of internal controls and their role in risk management.
  • Strong research and investigative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
