Job Description

Position Objective:

The Supervisor, Valuation position objectives are to lead and oversee accurate valuations, develop efficient processes, ensure compliance with regulations, collaborate with stakeholders, review results for accuracy, stay updated on standards, provide guidance to team members, contribute to cross-functional projects, foster collaboration, and maintain strong internal controls.

Responsibilities:

A. Financial projections:
  • Conduct monthly forecast P&L, ensuring accurate and timely projections.
  • Develop 5-year plans and annual planning projections to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform variance analysis between forecast/projections and actual results.
  • Prepare sale files and model points, set up assumptions, run Prophet models, and extract results to P&L templates. Provide commentary on projections.
  • Conduct other financial projections as requested.

B. Reinsurance reporting:
  • Prepare reinsurance reports, including monthly reinsurance premium, allowance, and recoverable.
  • Reconcile reinsurance balances with reinsurers and auditors on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Generate reports such as G03-Summary, Ceded Reinsurance Treaties Report, G06-Accident Catastrophe, and G08-Pandemic Risk Data.
  • Collaborate with IT for new reinsurance treaty data collection requirements.
  • Prepare the annually reinsurance review report and relevant reports, including recommendations on existing treaty programs.

C. Other tasks:
  • Conduct or review UL AV adjustments.
  • Support annual experience studies in G10 and G11.
  • Actively participate in new projects from the regional office.
  • Complete other ad-hoc projects as requested.


Qualifications

Requirement:
  • Minimum 3 years of Actuarial Valuation experience.
  • Proficient in Prophet, with strong knowledge of modelling techniques.
  • Solid understanding of actuarial concepts and financial projection techniques.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying complex concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Actuarial credentials or progress towards qualification preferred.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
