What will you do?

This role reports to SPL's Growth Head who plays a pivotal role in the performance growth of SPL via the marketing and sales functions. This role will be required to build, optimise and implement innovative quantitative analytical methodologies, procedures, and advanced mathematical models that provide analytical support and interpretable insights, to address business opportunities and problems and implement business strategy, under guidance against predicted results and deliver according to set processes and procedures. Quantifies the accuracy metrics of the analysis and presents and depicts the rationale of their findings in easy to understand terms for business.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of financial services.
  • Statistical or mathematical modelling skills
  • Understanding of modelling and rating process
  • Degree or equivalent Diploma in Statistics / Mathematics
  • A strong command of programming languages, such as Python, C#, and SQL, as well as statistical analysis tools, such as R, Matlab, and SAS.
  • MS Office, particularly Excel (advanced user)


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintenance of Marketing, Operational and Digital Fulfilment performance dashboards,
  • Creation of Trigger events that drive real-time strategic interventions,
  • Automation of performance dashboards in collaboration with BI,
  • Identification of market trends and the provision of actionable insights to the SPL management team,
  • Tracking of performance measures post the implementation of strategic business innovations,
  • Development of profitability models to enable and drive growth initiative prioritisation,
  • Identify opportunities to drive cost saving, revenue driving and efficiency-based improvements for the business


Qualification and Experience

  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees in Mathematics Statistics/Mathematics/Econometrics/Finance/Actuarial Science or related quantitative discipline
  • Honours is preferred
  • 1 - 2 years min experience
