Description

As a specialty provider of primary insurance services, Great Lakes Insurance SE with its branches in the UK, Australie, Switzerland, Italy and Ireland and its subsidiary in the UK, is an integral part of Muncih Re Group and an important enabler for Specialty Insurance Business (GSI - Global Specialty Insurance) closely connected to Muncih Re's reinsurance core business. To strengthen our Integrated Risk Management team, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual in Munich as part of the global Great Lakes enterprise risk management function located in Munich, London and Sydney. You will be responsible for overarching governance and reporting topics within the risk management team. The role will work in close collaboration with responsible business units as well as with the Group Integrated Risk Management department in MR.

This position offers exciting challenges and insights within Great Lakes, Munich Re AG and other Global Specialty Insurance units, with exposure to Board Members, top management, regulatory bodies as well as a network of specialists within Munich Re (MR). You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team.

Your Job
  • Contributing to the risk strategy process, including risk identification, setting of risk appetites and associated limits and triggers, monitoring the risk exposure, and undertaking related control processes
  • Contributing to the regulatory and internal risk reporting cycles, including Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA)
  • Ensuring ongoing appropriate risk governance, risk reporting and risk management in the Great Lakes Group, including in the international branches
  • Supporting the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in the execution of the regulated risk management function, the advisory role to the Board of Management, and the mirroring of the Group CRO function
  • Providing risk opinions on risk-taking decisions under consideration of the risk bearing capacity of the Company
  • Supporting the validation of the capital model
  • Fulfilling regulatory requirements and ad hoc studies, participating to projects
  • Managing stakeholders and the wider embedment of the risk management framework at local as well as at group level


Your Profile
  • Working collaboratively and effectively in international group dynamic, often virtual; proficient in agile ways of working
  • Flexibility and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English
  • University degree in mathematics, actuarial science, risk management, or a related field in a relevant discipline
  • Good knowledge of risk management frameworks, Solvency II and other regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with regulatory reporting and submissions is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills, able to present complex matters logically and with transparency, and to provide high-quality reporting tailored to management needs
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • Working collaboratively and effectively in an international group dynamic and in a hybrid set-up
  • Experience in Power BI is an advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English
