Job Description

The Finance Manager holds a pivotal position in the organization, responsible for curating, organizing, and supervising financial information. The primary objective is to empower business leaders with the insights needed to make informed decisions. Success in this role hinges on the ability to meticulously gather, analyze, monitor, and propose strategic measures that enhance the company's profitability. Specifically, this role focuses on gathering, analyzing, and interpreting benefits plans data, collaborating with external actuarial partners and HR teams to recommend actions and identify costs and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead FP&A reporting & analysis, collaborating with fellow finance analysts to meet deadlines and ensure accountability. Additionally, monitor variance analysis and reporting, and identify risks and opportunities, with a focus on supporting the HR, Legal, and Real Estate departments.
  • Provide leadership in the creation and communication of the expense portions of the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes as well as its subsequent measurement.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams in Technology, Operations, Procurement, and other areas to drive strategic projects and initiatives through financial planning and analysis.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret benefits plans data, then recommend actions and identify costs and opportunities through collaboration with external actuarial partners and HR teams.
  • Performs identification of areas for potential productivity improvement and expense containment.
  • Investigating, challenging, and standardizing expense allocation methodologies and expense structures
  • Develop business cases, scenario analyses, and financial models, as needed.
  • Contribute to initiatives to define and improve planning processes, drive automation, and streamline deliverables.
  • Perform ad-hoc business analysis for leadership team to further inform business decisions.
  • Invest in leadership and self-growth by actively engaging in continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Work Experience Requirements:
  • Prior experience and a solid understanding of company-funded benefits plans (including medical and workers' compensation) are essential. Familiarity with accounting for benefits costs is also required.
  • Possess 10 years' experience in management level finance positions of progressive responsibility.
  • Experience authoring/driving/influencing change in organizations.
  • Experience in complex financial modeling and business case development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
  • Requires general business skills, industry knowledge, financial management and planning skills, and understanding of accounting and finance concepts, long-term vision and executive presence.
  • Ability to collect, organize, visualize, and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and EPM systems (prior experience in Oracle EPM or Hyperion Planning is a plus)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills and with ability to function effectively as a small-team member.
  • Ability to structure logic and communicate clearly using both oral and written forms, with experience creating and communicating business messages to senior leadership.
  • Ability to utilize judgment in decision making progress and decisions related to job tasks as well as the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess a results-oriented management style.
